For Koa

Hi everyone,

As many of you know Koa has had a reoccurrence of his Ependymoma brain tumour. As usual Koa has displayed an unbelievable strength and resilience as he has completed yet another brain surgery, is in the midst of further treatment and recovery. He has had to face this fight more times than any 3 year old should have to and we need to find a cure. Koa inspires us to be brave and do hard things everyday. His name means warrior and that’s his soul and spirit.

The RCD foundation is holding their annual Connors Run, in memory of their son Connor who sadly passed away from the same tumour. The RCD foundation is leading research in Australia into finding a cure for paediatric brain cancer. They are currently funding a project at QLD university that you can read about here: https://rcdfoundation.org/brain-cancer-vaccine-project/ This project is hoping to open patient trials this year, this could save Koa’s life.

The RCD foundation also pays for music therapy grants which Koa was lucky enough to receive twice. Through this grant Koa’s music therapist Laura, helped Koa celebrate his love for music and heal from trauma mentally, emotionally and physically.

Mark, Koa and I have registered a team for the ‘run your way, any day’ in September as the actual run is held in Melbourne. We invite you to join us in TEAM KOA to set yourself a challenge alongside Koa in your own way. You can register to Team KOA or donate on the following link: https://www.connorsrun.com/join/teamkoa
We are hoping to put together a fun day for Koa where we can all come together in September too but we just aren’t there in amongst everything going on at the moment.

If golf is more your thing, the RCD foundation is also holding a Golf Classic in November that you can find more information on here: https://give.rcdfoundation.org/event/connors-golf-classic/connors-golf-classic-nsw

Big love from us xxx

I'm fundraising for kids with brain cancer!

We're doing Connor’s Run to support the brave and awesome kids fighting brain cancer - the #1 disease killer of young people, and to fund the science that will one day end paediatric brain cancer.

Brain cancer research is on the tipping point. We can all be part of making important breakthroughs happen. Our participation is something that we can do to support the science and in the meantime the patients. For all the people out there currently battling brain tumours and for those who couldn’t wait for research to progress any longer.

We're doing this because we know we can find a way to make brain cancer go the way of the dinosaurs. Make a donation to our page and be part of making brains matter, together we can change the odds for young people.
