I will Be Awesome

I'm fundraising for kids with brain cancer!

This September, my dog Chelsea and I are taking on Connor's Run, and for me, this one is personal in more ways than one.

I'm a doctor and researcher, and for more than ten years I've worked alongside kids facing brain cancer and spent my career trying to understand this disease better. So, I don't need convincing that paediatric brain cancer is devastating - I see it. It kills more children than any other disease, and despite everything we know, real treatment breakthroughs have been painfully slow to reach the kids who need them.

That's exactly why research matters so much right now, and why it needs funding more than almost anything else. I've spent a decade in labs and clinics chasing better answers for these kids, and I can tell you honestly: we are closer than ever to real breakthroughs. What's standing in the way, more often than not, isn't the science - it's the funding to get that science moving faster.

I'm doing this for every child fighting brain cancer right now, kids who are braver, fiercer, funnier, and more resilient than anyone their age should ever have to be. They deserve treatments that actually work, and their families deserve real support through a journey no one should have to face alone.

Every dollar raised goes straight to the RCD Foundation's work - right now, that includes five active clinical trials for kids with brain cancer, plus the research and care programs working alongside them. It's the same fight I get to be part of every day, in the lab and at the bedside.

So, Chelsea and I are lacing up (well, she's mostly just supervising). If you're able to, please donate to my page. Together, we can change the odds for these kids and get them, and their families, the treatments and support they deserve.
