Help support the UW-Madison's Department of Pediatrics develop CAR T cell therapy for pediatric brain tumors!

I'm doing Connor’s Run to support the brave and awesome kids fighting brain cancer - the #1 disease killer of young people, and to fund the science that will one day end pediatric brain cancer.

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I work in Dr. Christian Capitini's lab at the Cancer Carbone Center developing novel CAR (chimeric antigen receptor) T cell therapy for the treatment of pediatric high grade gliomas (HGGs). CAR T cell therapy is already FDA approved for the treatment of some blood cancers, but has yet to reach the same success for the treatment of solid tumors due to many obstacles. Together, my colleagues and I are currently working on novel ways to produce CAR T cell therapy with enhanced capacity for safety and efficacy with a long-term goal of clinical application.

I'm participating in Connor's Run not only as the first US based RCD Research Fellow, but as someone who has personally experienced loss of multiple close family members and friends to cancer. Please join me in the fight against pediatric brain cancer by donating to the Immunotherapy Warriors group for Connor's Run. Every donation made within the United States stays here to provide support to pediatric patients in need, and fund research programs to develop new cellular therapies.

Thank you so much in advance for considering donating to this amazing cause!
