Incredible Support!
This week marks the halfway point of Charlie’s proton radiation treatment in Florida. It’s hard to believe we’re here. It’s been a really tough journey, with a lot of ups and downs, but through it all, we’ve felt so supported.
Our community has shown up for us again in the most incredible way.
I first met Liz Dawes when she was conferencing at Balgownie. She’s a fellow brain cancer Mum and the Founder and CEO of the RCD Foundation, created in honour of her son. From that moment, I knew we wanted to be involved, to learn more, to support, and to stand alongside others doing it for kids with brain cancer.
Last weekend, the Mt Evelyn Football Netball Club came together and raised over $5,000 for the RCD Foundation through Bailey’s Shave. We are so grateful. The foundation is doing amazing work, funding research and supporting kids like our Charlie and it means the world to see people get behind it, and behind us.
Acts like this from clubs and our community don’t go unnoticed, they mean so much to our family.
The truth is, this hasn’t been easy. It’s been a really rough road. But moments like these remind us how lucky we are to have such a caring and generous community around us.
In September, Daniel and I, along with our brothers and sisters, will be running 9.6kms in honour of Charlie and all kids fighting brain cancer.

We’re running for Charlie!
We’re doing Connor’s Run for Charlie, our brave and resilient 4-year-old, who has been battling CNS Neuroblastoma since October 2025. Since then, she has endured intense high-dose chemotherapy, a 21-hour open brain surgery, and proton radiation treatment in Florida. While her treatment is working, it will leave her with lifelong side effects — a reality faced by far too many children fighting brain cancer.
We’re running to help raise funds for better treatments and ultimately a cure, because despite decades passing, treatments and outcomes for childhood brain cancer have changed far too little. Survival rates and long-term quality of life are not improving fast enough. Charlie shows us every day what true courage looks like, and if she can face this battle with such strength, then we can run for her, and for every child who deserves a brighter future.
