I'm fundraising for kids with brain cancer!

This will be our 7th year supporting the Robert Connor Dawes foundation in Memory of our son Lucas.
Lucas was diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumour, a rare and aggressive brain cancer in 2018 when he was just 9 months old.
Lucas was 8 months old when we noticed abnormalities with his left eye, a visit to the GP resulted in a trip to emergency where he had a CT scan and a mass on his brain was discovered. After a week of tests and scans we were sent home to await further information. Lucas’s health declined quickly and an MRI confirmed the orginal tumour had doubled in size and spread throughout his brain and spine. He endured brain surgeries, a gruelling 6 months of combination and high dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplants which required us to stay at the hospital and Ronald McDonald house, with a few days here and there at home during this time , 15 lumbar punctures, countless scans, procedures, tests, 30+ blood and platelet transfusions and more.

The cancer was so aggressive this treatment was not enough to save his life, 10 weeks after he completed treatment the tumour began to grow. Lucas ran out of treatment options and sadly passed away 5 weeks later at the young age of 18 months, 10 months after diagnosis, on the 28th of March 2019.

He was the happiest, most beautiful little boy with a smile that would melt your heart.
