I’m doing this for Brain Matters. Brain cancer research is on the tipping point. We can all be part of making important breakthroughs happen. My participation is something that I can do to support the science and in the meantime the patients. For all the people out there currently battling brain tumours and for those who couldn’t wait for research to progress any longer. I’m doing this because I know we can find a way to make brain tumours go the way of the dinosaurs.

My last run was a 9.1km effort almost 3 weeks ago. As always this time of year, work has got in the way a little. With little over a month to go though... it's time to try and start some training.

Ok... so my first proper run in about year went pretty well and I managed 6.5km... what didn't go well was the next 3 days. I ran on Saturday morning, it's now Tuesday afternoon and I still can't walk properly! This is going to be tough.

I haven't done a huge amount of running recently... well... actually, I haven't done any running lately and it's been a few years since I ran more than 10km. 18.8km will be a huge personal effort for me, but more than worth it in context of the help and hope for the future the funds raised will bring!
