Our little baby.

In 2013, we threw together the first Connor’s Run in a matter of weeks. It all happened very fast and before we knew it, Connor’s Run was born on September 15.

Over 5 years, we’ve seen it grow and mature into what it is today: entertaining, charming and truly wonderful. It’s been an incredibly rewarding time. Emotional. Exhausting. But as any parent would testify, worth every second.

And so as I await the arrival of my own little baby, it’s time for me to step away from my role in Connor’s Run. To hand over the reigns and let the many other capable hands take care of it. The 5th Connor’s Run will be my last as it’s Creative Director.

Connor’s Run has an incredible spirit. Inherited in part from Connor. And in part from the way every participant has thrown themselves behind the event. I love that it’s a massive love-fest. I love that it brings strangers to an embrace. I love that it feels like I have 4000 friends on that Sunday. This is what I am most proud of. That a positive change for brain cancer is so positive. Not scary. Not negative. Not nagging. Just full of life.

I won’t lie, the separation anxiety will be massive. But seeing Connor’s Run continue to flourish will continue to make me smile and cry. I will miss Connor’s Run as much as I miss Connor.

So friends…you’ve often said to me that you admire the work I do for RCD. Well now its time for some amazing work of your own. Make a donation to my fundraising page as a tribute to the 5 years that have been.

Also, if you make a donation of $25 000, you can get naming rights to a middle name of my child.
